Jay

I was born in Philadelphia and moved to St. Pete as a young child. After graduating from Northeast High School, I completed my undergraduate degree at FSU and earned my law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1995. I’ve been in practice for nearly 30 years focusing on catastrophic injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice cases. Ironically, the biggest and most important trial of my career wasn’t in an injury case, but defending Bubba‘s First Amendment case in 2013, which we won!

I met Bubba over 25 years ago when he began talking about Dr. Dan’ boob jobs on-air. Bubba referred to them as “Diaco.” The rest is history. We’ve been very close since then. I’ve been Bubba‘s lawyer behind the scenes for decades, and began monthly appearances in the early 2000s, and I’ve been a regular part of the show since late 2019. 

By nature, I’m a very private person, but I’ve come to love my time on air to discuss the craziness we all witness daily. The Bubba the Love Sponge Show is one of the few places on Earth where you can get such an unfiltered and funny perspective on serious issues. I have so much fun being a part of the crew, because I’m Bubba‘s biggest fan. He literally makes me laugh out loud every day. 

I am the youngest of three Italian boys. I am a father of two children and a husband of 18 years. I find my strength in my family. We love each other to death.

I’ve been an avid surfer since I was a kid. I’ve traveled the world surfing with my kindergarten buddy, Pitty, and my brothers. Surfing keeps me young: mind, body, and soul. I’ve got  two sides to my personality. I have a Type A personality as a lawyer and a bohemian/relaxed attitude as a surfer. Both are necessary parts of me. I also love driving race cars, and I have been blessed to be able to do so with my big brother, Dr. Dan, Esq.
